Rehabilitation on the hillside.

Many of you may be intrigued by the white patches on the hill side above Lagoonview Nursery.  I contacted the environmental services of the Municipality and Pam Booth, Manager of Environmental Planning,   very kindly supplied the following information:

“The blankets are biodegradable wood fibres made of poplar. They are used in the high velocity channels. The sausages are also poplar that’s been shredded and closed inside a biodegradable net.

We’ve sown annual seed like Eragrostis tef  behind some of the sausages to assist with stabilisation and hope to start the hydroseeding process on Wednesday.

The logs and blankets are made by a company called Wood at Heart”.
